Hi,
Here are the directions I use for making the large goose clothes.....you can change the fabrics and decorations to make any holiday outfits. =============================
LARGE GOOSE DRESS WITH APRON: Goose Dress for July 4th 2004 -------------------------------------------- Cut dress 44" wide x 141/2 " long.
At neck end, turn fabric inside 2" and stitch 1/2'" from cut edge..... stitch again 1/2" from first stitching...this makes the elastic casing.
Add 1 3/4" lace to bottom edge.
`Apron' cut apron 10" wide x 9" long and round bottom corners with cereal bowl or large can. Add lace to the sides and bottom of apron. Turn under the top 1/2" and stitch. Gather the Apron to a width at top .....5".
Center the Apron to the dress 1/2" below stitching line and stitch in place.
Add 1/2" wide elastic...9 " long in the casing area.
Stitch back seam.
HAT ----------- Cut (2) - 9" circles of fabric and (1) of very stiff inner facing for the brim. With the right sides together and the inner facing on the bottom stitch 1/2" from the outside edge. Cut a 3 1/2" circle from the center.......turn right side out and stitch 1/4" inside cut out inner circle.
Cut (1)- 10" circle of fabric for the top crown. 1/2" from outside edge....zig-zag over heavy string and gather to fit Brim. Stitch brim & crown together with 1/2" seam.
Add 1/4" wide x 7" long elastic to hat inside brim...placing 1/2" over each brim stitching line.
Trim hat if desired with flowers, stars etc.
